Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Maintenance Manager for plastics extrusion in Fairview, PA. Lead maintenance teams and oversee preventive maintenance to maximize uptime on extrusion equipment and related production systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance activities for plastics extrusion equipment and related production machinery, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.
• Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for extrusion lines, dryers, conveyors, chillers, and other auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot and oversee repairs involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Prioritize maintenance requests and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
• Supervise, train, and support maintenance technicians while developing their skills.
• Partner with production leadership to identify recurring issues and implement long-term actions.
• Manage maintenance schedules, work orders, records, spare parts, and inventory.
• Coordinate outside vendors and contractors when needed.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
• Assist with facility maintenance and plant infrastructure as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Track performance, downtime, and costs to identify improvement opportunities.

Job Details

• Lead all maintenance activities for plastics extrusion equipment and related production machinery, ensuring maximum uptime and equipment reliability.
• Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for extrusion lines, dryers, conveyors, chillers, material handling systems, and other auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot and oversee repairs involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Prioritize maintenance requests and coordinate repairs to minimize production downtime.
• Supervise, train, and support maintenance technicians while helping develop their technical skills and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Partner closely with production leadership to identify recurring equipment issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Manage maintenance schedules, work orders, equipment records, spare parts, and inventory.
• Coordinate outside vendors, contractors, and equipment service providers when additional support is required.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
• Assist with facility maintenance, utilities, and general plant infrastructure as needed.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and other applicable standards.
• Track equipment performance, downtime, maintenance costs, and other key metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Help establish maintenance best practices that improve equipment life, productivity, safety, and overall plant efficiency.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally supporting plastics extrusion or similar continuous-process equipment.
• Prior leadership, supervisory, or lead maintenance experience.
• Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and industrial control systems.
• Experience developing and managing preventive maintenance programs.
• Ability to diagnose complex equipment issues and determine effective repair solutions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple equipment and production needs.
• Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating with production, operations, and outside vendors.
• Strong focus on safety, equipment reliability, and minimizing production downtime.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in plastics manufacturing, extrusion, tubing, profile extrusion, or a related processing environment.
• Experience maintaining extrusion lines and auxiliary equipment including dryers, chillers, conveyors, material handling systems, and downstream equipment.
• Technical degree, apprenticeship, or certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or a related field.
• Experience supervising or developing maintenance technicians.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems, maintenance scheduling, work orders, and spare-parts inventory.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and industrial electrical systems.
• Experience participating in equipment installations, upgrades, continuous improvement, or capital projects.
