Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America in Texas seeks a Maintenance Manager to direct and coordinate the facility maintenance program, ensuring production, quality, and cost objectives are met across the plant.

The role leads the maintenance team, develops preventive maintenance, ensures compliance with USDA/OSHA/SQF standards, and drives continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and lean tools.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline.
• 3 Years direct supervision or management in maintenance and/or production environment.
• Computer skills to include Microsoft Suite products, and AutoCAD.
• Ability to work any shift.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and control the efforts of the Maintenance Department to maintain plant equipment and facilities commensurate with good engineering practices.
• Manage assets to execute an effective preventive maintenance program, to minimize unscheduled down time, and ensure that equipment is ready to run when scheduled.
• Ensure that equipment and facility installations meet regulatory standards (USDA, OSHA, EPA) and DFA policies.
• Maintain equipment readiness to meet manufacturer specifications and production needs.
• Support SQF Food Safety Code compliance and report safety issues to responsible personnel.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing/Process Engineering for equipment improvements and cost reductions.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs and recommend actions to improve performance.
• Keep accurate equipment and facility records including manuals and drawings.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, lean tools).
• Develop department objectives and maintain budget within parameters.
