Job summary

The IAFF Center of Excellence is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead campus operations, safety, and reliability. You will oversee daily maintenance, compliance with healthcare regulations, and coordination with clinical leadership to keep the facility fully functional.

This role emphasizes hands-on leadership, vendor management, and budget tracking within a mission-driven treatment campus serving first responders. On-site work is required in a secure, forested setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 4+ years of relevant experience and technical training in repair contracting, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and facilities operations
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in facility maintenance or related technical fields
• Experience in construction, general contracting, or facility renovation projects
• Strong technical expertise across core trades: HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems
• Healthcare, behavioral health, or senior living environments preferred
• Familiarity with Joint Commission standards; survey prep and compliance support
• Proficiency with CMMS or web-based work order systems (e.g., TELS, Fiix, Procore)
• Military or first responder experience strongly valued
• Ability to reside within commuting distance for on-site leadership

Responsibilities

• Protect and maintain the facility’s physical assets through proactive maintenance and planning
• Review and respond to recommendations from regulatory, planning, and inspection agencies
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, codes, and healthcare regulations, including Joint Commission standards
• Supervise daily maintenance operations, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs
• Maintain high standards across patient areas, offices, and staff spaces
• Lead fire and life safety efforts, including drills and upkeep of alarms, extinguishers, signage, and evacuation plans
• Oversee contractor and vendor performance and communicate updates to the Operations Director
• Support budget management, including tracking expenditures for materials and equipment
• Participate in training, in-service education, and ongoing professional development
• Perform additional duties as assigned
