Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing, a leading tier 1 supplier in the automotive supply chain, seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead multi-discipline maintenance teams at the Pontiac, MI plant. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and productivity through proactive PM programs and data-driven maintenance decisions.

You will oversee press, weld, and crib maintenance operations, ensuring skilled staffing, adherence to standards, and collaboration with contractors for complex repairs.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate or Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Technical discipline.
• Three to five years in maintenance leadership across multiple shifts.
• Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
• Willingness to obtain licenses (HIlo, crane, lift).
• Automotive industry experience preferred.
• Strong computer literacy including MS Office and Plex ERP.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance teams across disciplines; assign daily tasks.
• Oversee safety, reliability, efficiency and productivity of equipment.
• Manage maintenance supervisors; ensure proper training and staffing.
• Maintain PM and predictive maintenance programs with metrics.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for complex repairs.
• Respond to production emergencies and equipment downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost-effective maintenance practices.
