Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese in Abilene, TX seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance department, overseeing installation, maintenance and repair of plant equipment to maximize production efficiency. You will manage a team, ensure OSHA compliance, coordinate with production, and drive continuous improvement through preventive maintenance, safety, and cost control.

A engineering degree and 4+ years in maintenance management are preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required or commensurate experience.
4+ years of maintenance management experience or more.
Familiarity with OSHA requirements.
Broad understanding of manufacturing processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Organize, lead and supervise maintenance employees; solve problems before they develop.
Prioritize maintenance needs and assign to appropriate personnel.
Anticipate maintenance or engineering needs and rectify them before problems develop.
Lead and motivate by example; maintain open door policy.
Coordinate department meetings and shift changes; oversee input on new equipment purchases.
Manage production projects to completion and provide feedback.
Ensure safe work environment in compliance with OSHA/EPA guidelines.
