Job summary

The Department of Administrative Services - State Building Division is seeking a Maintenance Manager I to lead the Beatrice State Development Center maintenance team. The incumbent will supervise 15 staff, coordinate with occupants on space usage, and oversee repairs and purchasing up to $1000.

Responsibilities include directing day-to-day operations, implementing preventive maintenance, and managing contracts with outside vendors to maintain facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, HVAC, welding, or other maintenance/construction trade, one year of experience in skilled building maintenance or a mechanical trade, and experience supervising the work of skilled maintenance staff, in budgeting, and coordinating/managing major construction/renovation projects.
• Preferred Qualifications: Three years of experience in the building maintenance trades, including one year of experience supervising others engaged in trades work.

Responsibilities

• Under general direction, supervise the work of subordinate supervisors responsible for overseeing construction, installation, maintenance, and repair tasks.
• Direct staff on repairs and purchasing parts and supplies up to $1000.
• Coordinate with building occupants on space usage and availability.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the BSDC campus and supervise maintenance staff.
