Job Title

Maintenance Manager (Glass Manufacturing) — Work Location: Newark, OH (100% Onsite)

Job Summary

Responsible for effective management and execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of production machinery and facility support equipment. Responsible for the direct supervision of Maintenance Department staff and coordination of all contracted vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain security and safety of all contractors by directing the activity of outside contractors performing maintenance on site and coordinating hazard reporting with all contract personnel.
• Ensure facility safety and security by reviewing new process plans and coordinating with project engineers to determine equipment needs, layout, and operating procedures.
• Ensure operator safety by recommending changes in policies and procedures to prevent accidents and illness, and by examining plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment.
• Maintain production machinery and facility equipment in a high operational readiness condition.
• Ensure pollution control equipment and emissions are compliant through the administration, installation, modification, inspection, and maintenance of pollution control equipment.
• Maintain a high level of knowledge, skills, and proficiency of maintenance mechanics to meet the skill requirements needed to maximize equipment readiness.
• Minimize maintenance and utility costs by planning, developing, and implementing new methods and procedures to minimize energy consumption.
• Manage the maintenance workforce of 14-18 direct reports, supporting a 24/7 operation.
• Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing general safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations.
• Lead with a focus on operational reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrate ability to manage and mentor a diverse hourly and salaried maintenance team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 6+ years of manufacturing experience
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing and mentoring a team of hourly and salaried associates
• Proven conflict resolution skills with the ability to manage difficult conversations and resolve issues constructively
• Operational competencies in order/resource management, third party management, team and solution orientation, regulatory and compliance
• Product life cycle management and ability to achieve business results with strategic focus and direction
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; technical aptitude and software proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years of leadership experience, demonstrating ability to manage direct reports with diverse personalities, supporting employee engagement, performance, and development
• Glass manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of electrical and machinery operations and maintenance

Travel Requirements

• Ability to travel domestically up to 5%
