Mercy Housing is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to work with property management at Englewood Apartments in Chicago. This on-site role oversees building maintenance functions and manages budgets and vendor contracts.

You will patch and paint, perform plumbing and electrical repairs, prepare units for new residents, and supervise maintenance staff. We value collaboration, reliability, and a commitment to affordable housing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of skilled maintenance experience.
• Technical expertise in one or more building trades.
• Legal ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

This is a hands-on Maintenance Manager position that will work in collaboration with property management to perform building maintenance functions and oversee the budget and vendor contracts for Englewood Apartments, a supportive affordable housing community in Chicago.

Pay

$28.27-29.00/hour, depending on experience

What We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Technical certifications.

Knowledge and Skills

• Work in a collaborative manner and in a team environment.
• Comprehend and communicate in the English language, both orally and in writing. Present information to groups of people.
• Perform basic math and understand measurement systems used in the trade.
• Read and interpret electrical, plumbing, and mechanical diagrams and blueprints. Draft working sketches.
• Use maintenance, trade, and testing equipment and tools.
• Effectively oversee work progress of vendors or outside contractors.
• Legally operate a motor vehicle
