Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead a team in our New Jersey facility. You will oversee maintenance operations, ensure preventive schedules, and drive continuous improvements to equipment reliability and safety.

Responsibilities include coordinating resources for capital projects, managing contractors, and aligning maintenance activities with lean principles to boost OEE and productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management required.
• 10+ years in Industrial Automation, PLCs, Pneumatics and Hydraulics, Injection Molding.
• Lean environment experience preferred.
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification a plus.
• Solid understanding of OSHA guidelines for plant maintenance.
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• SAP knowledge and MS Office proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees, plans and issues work orders to shift team members for equipment modifications and maintenance.
• Works with manufacturing to ensure PM schedules are met consistently.
• Prepares and coordinates maintenance resources for capital and CI projects.
• Reviews equipment operation to identify maintenance issues in Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity, and Customer Satisfaction.
• Tracks and improves machine downtime, increasing reliability to meet demand.
• Ensures compliance with health and safety policies and proper safeguarding of equipment.
• Develops and implements trackable maintenance procedures for efficiency.
• Manages relationships with contractors and service providers.
• Tracks, analyzes, and improves Maintenance KPIs.
• Reviews KPIs to improve OEE and maintenance problem resolution.
• Engages employees in problem resolution using Lean techniques.
• Fosters a positive environment and drives the team to meet targets.
• Monitors and reviews the maintenance budget and prepares annual budgets.
• Ensures regulatory compliance with city, state and federal agencies.
• Drives cost savings through repairs, upgrades and cycle-time reduction.
• Ensures maintenance staff are trained and identifies gaps for training plans.
• Maintains facility compliance with fire and safety codes and inspections.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Oversees, plans and issues work orders to appropriate shift team members for the implementation of equipment modifications as well as preventative and any corrective maintenance.


• Work closely with manufacturing departments to ensure production equipment is maintained on a consistent basis and all PM schedules are met in a timely fashion.


• Prepares and coordinates maintenance resources and provides recommendations for capital and continuous improvement projects.


• Reviews the operation of equipment with appropriate personnel to identify maintenance issues in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity and Customer Satisfaction.


• Tracking and improving machine downtime, increasing machine reliability that supports manufacturing to meet customer demand.


• Ensure compliance to all health and safety policies and that all equipment is properly safeguarded.


• Develop and implement maintenance procedures that are trackable and accountable to ensure maximum efficiency of the maintenance department.


• Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.


• Tracks, analyzes, and improves the Maintenance department's KPIs.


• Review the location's Key Performance Indicators KPIs (Daily, Weekly and Monthly) to make recommendations for improving plant operations, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and maintenance problem resolution.


• Engages employees in problem resolution to improve production issues/efficiencies utilizing Lean Manufacturing techniques as needed.


• Fosters a positive working environment and drives the Maintenance team to meet set productivity targets and performance standards.


• Monitors and reviews Maintenance budget monthly: Prepares and implements annual budgets.


• Ensures all regulatory compliance with various governmental agencies such as city, county, state is met on a consistent basis.


• Drive cost savings through equipment repairs, upgrades, improved PM's, decreased cycle time, etc.


• Ensures Maintenance employees are properly trained in all aspects of their jobs.


• Identifies training gaps and develops training plans as needed.


• Maintains facility compliance with all municipal, state/provincial, and federal fire and safety codes, including the testing/inspections of the fire protection system.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have strong interpersonal skills.


• Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management.


• Prefer Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM).


• Possess 10+ years of experience in Industrial Automation, PLCs, Pneumatics and Hydraulics, Injection Molding preferably in the Packaging Industry.


• Leadership experience in operations, maintenance, engineering and/or process improvement roles including managing teams of people.


• Previous experience working in a Lean environment preferred.


• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plus.


• Solid understanding and knowledge of all OSHA guidelines pertaining to plant maintenance.


• Exceptional leadership and proven team-building skills.


• Excellent analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.


• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.


• Microsoft Office proficiency and SAP knowledge preferred.
