Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician to lead safety initiatives and maintain high-speed production equipment in our Harrisburg, NC facility. You will diagnose failures, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate parts and labor within budget to minimize downtime.

Applicants should have 3–5 years in manufacturing maintenance, strong electrical/mechanical skills including PLCs, welding, and automation, and a proactive, safety-focused mindset.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant.
  • Experience with high-speed equipment and electric-pneumatic controls.
  • Ability to use MIG and ARC welders.
  • Order parts and maintain inventory for maintenance materials.
  • Ability to operate a lathe and milling machine is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical knowledge of Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Pumps and associated systems.
  • Experience with Automation, PLCs, sensors and Robotic applications.
  • Facility maintenance knowledge including roofs, plumbing, boilers and HVAC.
  • Strong planning and scheduling abilities with prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to multitask in a dynamic environment.

  • Ensure preventative maintenance is followed and documented.
  • Assist in sourcing maintenance supplies within budget guidelines.
  • Use KPIs like PM compliance and schedule adherence to improve execution.
  • Apply company policies, H&S programs, and security guidelines consistently.

Job description

Responsibilities:


  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.

  • Lead and hold employees accountable in achieving maintenance goals and enhance employee work performance and productivity through coaching and feedback.

  • Participate in safety investigations as required.

  • Direct the troubleshooting of equipment failures to determine root cause and initiate appropriate remedial action.

  • Oversee quality maintenance and repair of equipment to improve availability and reliability for production.

  • Execute daily and weekly work schedules to ensure work is completed on time.

  • Collect and analyze work delay codes to identify challenges to timely completion of scheduled jobs and work with available resources to reduce delays.

  • Ensure preventative maintenance compliance and that repair history is properly documented.

  • Assist in sourcing and requisitioning maintenance supplies, equipment, and services within budgeted guidelines.

  • Use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as PM compliance, schedule compliance and break-in work as tools to improve maintenance execution.

  • Ensure the company’s current policies, procedures, H&S programs, and corporate security guidelines are applied effectively in 2 ways communication.


Requirements:


  • Three to five years of work experience in a manufacturing plant as a Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician.

  • Knowledge and experience working with high-speed equipment and electric-pneumatic controls.

  • Able to use both a MIG welder, and ARC welder.

  • Able to order parts and maintain inventory of all maintenance-related material.

  • Ability to use a lathe, and milling machine considered an asset.

  • Advanced working knowledge on mechanical/electrical systems and components; including, but not limited to, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Pumps, Gear Boxes, Power Transmission, Material Handling, Sensor, Transmitters, DC and AC circuits, Transformers, Power and Energy, Arc Flash

  • Working knowledge and experience on Automation; Industrial Process and Control system; PLC; Measuring Devices; Instrumentation; Robotic Application; Bulk Handling System

  • Working knowledge and experience on Facility Maintenance (Roof, Dock, plumbing) and Plant Equipment (Boiler, Air Compressors, Ammonia/Freon/Glycol Refrigeration, HVAC, Ventilation, Cooling Tower, Condenser, Backflow preventer, Sprinkler and Fire Extinguisher, Wastewater System, …)

  • Planning, scheduling & assigning ability while well experienced in defining priorities, required skills & resources.

  • Computer Savvy, hold practical knowledge on Microsoft Office.

  • Multitasked in a fast-paced environment with lots of changes in direction bases business requirement.

  • Being an example for others; being a Safety-Oriented Supervisor with a positive \"can do attitude\".

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other departments.
