Job summary

Graphic Packaging International is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance and engineering, ensuring safe and compliant operations at our Solon, OH facility. You will drive reliability, supervise teams, and manage budgets while coordinating energy use and capital projects.

You will implement predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance, mentor technicians, and ensure ongoing adherence to GMP/SQF/HACCP standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• BA or equivalent + 6 yrs related experience is required.
• MA + 4 yrs related experience is acceptable.
• Demonstrated leadership in plant maintenance or engineering.
• Strong knowledge of safety, GMP, SQF and HACCP practices.
• Experience managing budgets, downtime and asset reliability.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and leadership in plant maintenance and engineering.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality standards and audits (GEMBA, HACCP, SQF, GMP).
• Maximize asset reliability, uptime and cost through maintenance programs.
• Coordinate plant environmental programs and energy management.
• Develop long-range facility and equipment plans including capital repairs.
• Oversee predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance activities.

Job Summary

Manages repair and maintenance of manufacturing facilities and equipment including:

• Installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electronic equipment, tools, and instruments
• Installing, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing facilities infrastructure
• Making/machining replacement tools and parts for manufacturing operations
• Planning and prioritizing work orders and scheduling overall repair and maintenance activities to minimize production downtime and disruptions

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision, technical direction, administrative management, and leadership in the plant maintenance and engineering areas.
• Must actively support all plant safety & quality standards: GEMBA, hazard mitigation, safety leadership, plant audits, HACCP, SQF, GMP, food defense and safe implementation of plant down activities.
• Ensures machines continue to run smoothly, building safe, quality systems to operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate.
• Manage plant-wide maintenance and capital, maximizing asset reliability, uptime, and cost.
• Manage plant environmental programs to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations.
• Coordinate energy management optimization activities.
• Provide long-range planning for facility and equipment needs including capital and major repairs.
• Develops, implements, and oversees predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Uses other maintenance disciplines in the development and application of reliability engineering, root cause analysis and troubleshooting of equipment and processes.
• Accountable for maintenance budget & MRO.
• Coaches and develops training plans for all maintenance technicians.
• Supervises the Maintenance Supervisor, Planner, Stores Coordinator & Maintenance purchasing functions.
• Qualify Vendors and Contractors and negotiate terms and conditions.
• Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork.

Safe Quality Food Responsibilities

• Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
• Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
• Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
• Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
• Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation

Education & Experience

BA or equivalent + 6 yrs related experience, or MA + 4 yrs related experience
