Job summary

Kyocera Unimerco in Saline, MI is seeking a Maintenance Manager who will be hands-on with CNC and industrial equipment while leading maintenance activities. You will troubleshoot and optimize maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and availability.

The role emphasizes initiative, problem-solving, and collaboration with Production, Engineering, and international teams to drive continuous improvement and safe operation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience with CNC machinery preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.

Responsibilities

We're looking for a hands-on professional who enjoys working directly with equipment while leading maintenance efforts, preventing problems, and finding better ways to keep our operations running.

What You'll Do

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair CNC machinery and industrial production equipment.

Develop and improve preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Identify recurring issues, determine root causes, and implement lasting solutions.

Lead and coordinate maintenance activities, priorities, and personnel while remaining actively involved in hands-on work.

Manage maintenance resources, contractors, spare parts, and budgets.

Support equipment upgrades, installations, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with Production, Engineering, equipment manufacturers, and international colleagues.

What We're Looking For

3+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience, preferably involving CNC machinery.

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills; experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial controls is a plus.

Natural leadership ability with the initiative to take ownership, make decisions, and guide others.

A proactive mindset focused on prevention, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.

High school diploma or GED required; additional technical education or certifications preferred.

Previous management experience is not required. We're looking for someone with the right technical abilities, attitude, and potential to lead.
