Job summary

Wheatland Tube, LLC in Rochelle, IL seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead daily maintenance activities in a heavy-industry plant. You will supervise maintenance staff, implement preventive and predictive maintenance, and drive safety and quality standards to maximize uptime.

The role requires five years of supervisory mechanical/electrical experience, strong leadership and analytical skills, and the ability to manage budgets, downtime, and capital projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of mechanical/electrical supervisory experience in heavy industry.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct daily maintenance staff activities through scheduling, planning, and coaching.
• Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing safety programs and initiatives.
• Develop, implement, and administer maintenance programs per safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Ensure maintenance work complies with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations to minimize downtime and improve production.
• Lead preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance to increase reliability and reduce costs.
• Assign work with clear instructions and expectations.
• Manage repair & maintenance costs to budget and identify improvements.
• Identify capital investment needs and ensure timely project completion.
• Provide technical guidance during equipment breakdowns to resume production safely.
• Monitor materials and requisitions with Purchasing to ensure availability.
• Review team performance and provide constructive feedback.

You will lead maintenance planning, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support operational uptime through effective supervision, technical guidance, and adherence to safety and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to manage both people and processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
