Job summary

Kruger Family Industries, parent of Penda Corporation and TriEnda Holdings, seeks a Maintenance Director to lead two facilities. You will oversee multiple technician shifts, plan preventive maintenance and capital projects, and ensure safety, cost control, and operational efficiency.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage parts inventory, and coordinate with Operations, Production and Engineering to meet production needs and schedules.

Qualifications

  • Formal supervisory experience overseeing maintenance teams across multiple shifts.
  • Working knowledge of statistics and SPC concepts for downtime analysis.
  • Ability to plan, allocate resources and ensure 24/7 readiness where applicable.

Summary

Plans, directs, and manages all maintenance operations across two facilities. Oversees multiple shifts of maintenance technicians in each building and coordinates activities related to the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of machinery, equipment, and building systems.

Ensures operational efficiency, safety compliance, cost control, and continuous improvement of maintenance functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provides overall leadership and strategic direction for maintenance operations across two buildings with multiple technician shifts.
  • Directs and oversees electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
  • Ensures proper shift coverage, workforce planning, and resource allocation to maintain 24/7 operational readiness where applicable.
  • Supervises and supports Maintenance Supervisors, Leads, and Technicians in diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions.
  • Oversees dismantling, assembling, installing, and commissioning of industrial machinery and facility equipment.
  • Develops and manages spare parts inventory systems for both buildings to ensure critical components are available while controlling costs.
  • Reviews production schedules and forecasts labor requirements to ensure timely completion of maintenance projects and work orders.
  • Interprets and enforces company policies, regulatory requirements and safety standards.
  • Reviews and approves specifications, blueprints, and job plans; ensures proper assignment of duties across teams and shifts.
  • Establishes, standardizes, and optimizes work procedures across both buildings to meet production and operational demands.
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve overall production performance.
  • Recommends capital improvements and equipment upgrades to increase efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Oversees and continuously improves the Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Manages Tool Crib operations and associated personnel to ensure proper control, calibration, and accountability of tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Implements and monitors calibration programs for maintenance and testing equipment.
  • Prepares, reviews, and approves job costing reports for maintenance capital projects.
  • Develops, monitors, and manages monthly and annual maintenance budgets.
  • Analyzes maintenance metrics (downtime, PM compliance, labor utilization, costs) and implements corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborates with Operations, Production, Engineering, and other department leaders to coordinate facility-wide activities.
  • Drives employee engagement, accountability, and performance across all shifts.
  • Ensures accurate maintenance documentation, work order tracking, and time reporting.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned to support business objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the maintenance department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or four + years related experience with five to seven years of supervisory related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Working knowledge of statistics and basics of SPC.
Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described in this section are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The production area temperatures can fluctuate significantly based on the time of year. The noise levels can be moderate to high. The use of hearing protection and safety eyewear is required while on production floor. The use of additional specific safety equipment may be required. The noise level in the office is usually quiet. The noise level in production is usually moderate.

Work Availablity And Travel

Must have the ability to work all shift schedules, periodic overtime and be available for periodic weekend work.
