Job Purpose
The Maintenance Manager will plan, direct and control the efforts of the maintenance department to maintain plant equipment and facilities commensurate with good engineering practices. It is the Maintenance Managers responsibility to report planned outages, equipment failure and maintenance needs to the VP of Operations.

Job Purpose
The Maintenance Manager will plan, direct and control the efforts of the maintenance department to maintain plant equipment and facilities commensurate with good engineering practices. It is the Maintenance Managers responsibility to report planned outages, equipment failure and maintenance needs to the VP of Operations.
Duties And Responsibilities
Develop, train, and administer an organization qualified to maintain all equipment and
facilities in a safe and efficient working condition.
Execute an effective preventive maintenance program to minimize unscheduled down
time.
Incorporate organization tools to improve safety and efficiency.
Maintain asset criticality program with ability to track maintenance records, print work
orders and control inventories of critical parts.
Establish written SOP and or Standard Work Instructions for the Maintenance
department.
Be present when major equipment repair or replacement is taking place, i.e., belts on
the elevator legs, major dryer equipment, large electric motors, packaging equipment.
Be available to cover weekend duty on a routine and rotational basis.
Qualifications
High School Diploma.
Management experience in maintenance department. Must possess a balance of
technical, human relations and conceptual skills required to achieve results through subordinate supervision.
Other- Must be capable of evaluating and weighing alternatives, establishing relative
priorities and formulating decisions that affect all phases of the operation.
Advanced computer skills, and ability to adapt to change
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
In the plant environment, the Maintenance Director may be exposed to noise, heat and other elements both inside and outside. While performing the duties of this position, the Maintenance Director will be exposed to moving, mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise levels, internal and external temperature/weather conditions, and will be exposed to chemicals.
Occasionally lifting weight up to (60) sixty pounds
Climbing several flights of stairs and ladders
Opening and closing of flow valves
Walking up to two (2) or more miles a day
Pushing brooms, shovels, etc.
Working at heights, in confined spaces and at temperatures from 0 to 100 plus degrees
Fahrenheit
Standing for extended periods of time
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Using hand and power tools
