Job summary

Gpac seeks a hands-on Maintenance Manager in the Jackson, MS area for a high-volume meat processing environment. You will lead a skilled maintenance team, drive reliability, and support continuous improvement across fabrication and processing operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance leadership in meat or food processing (protein experience strongly preferred).
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and industrial troubleshooting background.
• Experience with refrigeration (ammonia), packaging equipment, conveyors, and processing machinery.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage KPIs, and build a culture of accountability.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, safety programs, and maintenance best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor a multi-skilled maintenance team across all production shifts.
• Oversee daily maintenance operations, troubleshooting, PM programs, and work order execution.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, HACCP, ammonia/refrigeration regulations, and plant safety programs.
• Manage maintenance budget, parts inventory, and contractor relationships.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, and QA to maximize uptime and support production goals.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, extend equipment life, and improve plant performance.
• Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and future facility enhancements.

Gpac is working with a well-established, rapidly growing National Company (meat processing) that is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager in the Jackson area of Mississippi.

In this role you would support a high-volume, fast-paced production environment. This leader will drive equipment reliability, support continuous improvement, and guide a skilled maintenance team across fabrication and further-processing operations.
