- Report to Plant Director
- Manage plant Technical Resources; maintain equipment and processes appropriately; staff Departments effectively.
- Meet operational goals and objectives; meet product cost targets; meet product quality objectives; meet safety goals and objectives.
- Work with Scheduling to Schedule PM's and necessary work to be completed.
- Work with Production Supervisors on training programs.
- Direct Maintenance, Tooling, and Automation Supervisors in relation to production equipment and costs.
- Prepare and maintain budget goal.
- Identify processes and create programs that will reduce costs, reduce scrap and rework, and keep overall product costs highly competitive.
- Solicit ideas and feedback from employees by creating a high level of engagement without compromising effective systems or authority.
- Reduce manufacturing, production, quality, and on‑time delivery variables by implementing a high degree of process control.
- Manage Supervisors who oversee the day‑to‑day plant Technical Resources.
- Handle employee relation issues effectively.
- Serve as a qualified backup to the Production Manager.
- Be P & L responsible for machine uptime and efficiency.
- Follow and comply with Safety & Quality Absolutes.
- Follow ISO 9001, ASI‑Food Safety, ISO 15378 requirements.
- Adhere to all regulatory laws and guidelines.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A college degree or equivalent experience in business or related disciplines is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and building support systems.
- Ability to problem‑solve involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Capable of training others as needed.
- Experience in INJ, SBM, EBM, IBM, RHB, or plastics manufacturing is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, written, and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to administer policies and procedures.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Negative drug screen.
- Capable of working extended workdays and weekends as required.
Contribution to Safety, Quality and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace by ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Conduct required safety reviews of equipment and processes prior to project start‑up.
- Support the accomplishment of your work group’s quality, timeliness and professionalism.
- Supply accurate and timely data for performance tracking and reporting.
- Apply resources in a manner that maximizes effectiveness while assuring quality.
- Maintain a work environment that will contribute to assurance of safety and GMP compliance.
- Adhere to established procedures, perform self‑checking and pay attention to detail in the work of you and your team.
- Notify management promptly of any problems with procedural compliance.
- Report observed quality problems and deficiencies promptly.
- Make recommendations to management for improving quality and efficiency.
- Oversee work to ensure projects are completed.
Frontline Leader Responsibilities
- Accountable for the safety of employees under your responsibility through active engagement in safety activities and clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
- Support and investigate situations where line or equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
- Complete responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Lead risk assessment activities for your area by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate or reduce environmental, health, or safety risks.
- Lead required safety meetings (e.g., pre‑shift, department, change management, general communication, town hall).
- Complete incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions promptly and thoroughly.
- Ensure proper training and development of all assigned employees.
- Set goals for your organizational unit; achieve goals and ensure all employees understand and work toward them.
- Motivate and coach employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback; identify and coordinate additional training as needed.
