Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Manager to supervise the maintenance staff and oversee corrective and preventative maintenance within the plant.

You will lead the maintenance crew, control scheduling, and implement preventive maintenance programs to keep equipment safe and operational. The role requires at least 3 years of managerial experience in an industrial setting, strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures, and proficiency with MS Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a manager in an industrial setting or with vocational training.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures.
• Experience with computer maintenance programs and with MS Word and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the maintenance staff and oversee corrective or preventative maintenance procedures in the plant.
• Evaluate and correct mechanical and building problems as they arise; provide direction and leadership for the maintenance crew and schedule controls.
• Implement and evaluate preventative maintenance programs and train personnel on safety procedures per OSHA.
• Ensure cleanliness of equipment and perform safety inspections; operate equipment per company safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the supervision of the maintenance staff, and any corrective or preventative maintenance procedures within the plant.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Evaluates and corrects all mechanical and/or building problems that may arise in the plant.
• Provides direction and leadership for the maintenance crew and controls scheduling.
• Implements and evaluates preventative maintenance program.
• Responsible for training new personnel on Company safety procedures and safe operating standards in accordance with OSHA.
• Responsible for cleanliness of equipment and safety inspections.
• Operates all equipment in accordance with company safety rules and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience as a manager in an industrial setting or in combination with training/vocational school.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures.
• Experience with computer maintenance programs and with MS Word and MS Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior rendering experience preferred.
• Management experience in an agricultural business preferred.
• Good communication skills both oral and written.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures.
• Ability to provide leadership and training to maintenance personnel.
• Team player; works well with others; ability to supervise small groups.
• Detail oriented; well organized; ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
• Good math skills.
