Job summary

Epta Group in Columbus, GA is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the site maintenance function, delivering both reactive and proactive, multi-skilled support for all equipment and facilities. You will drive reliability, safety, and cost optimization through hands-on leadership and strong planning.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in maintenance leadership, a Bachelor's degree in engineering, and a track record of building preventive maintenance programs, managing budgets, and mentoring

Qualifications

  • Experience in leading maintenance teams and ensuring asset reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance strategy, policies and procedures to improve performance.
  • Train and mentor supervisors and technicians; assign tasks and resolve escalations.
  • Maximize equipment availability and reduce unexpected downtime.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance plan and adjust to avoid misses.
  • Oversee CMMS usage to track work orders and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop annual maintenance budget including parts and CapEx requirements.

MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Job Purpose: Lead the site Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure. Ensure maximum equipment performance and reliability while minimizing operating costs.

Experience
  • Professional experience in the role or similar: > 5 years
  • Management experience: with similar dimensions,
  • Highest Education Level*: Bachelor's degree in engineering
Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Train, and mentor maintenance supervisors and technicians. Assign daily tasks, evaluate performance, and resolve technical escalations. Lead the team to deliver effectively.
  • Maximize equipment performance and achieve a trend decrease of unexpected downtime due to equipment failures.
  • Develop a Preventative Maintenance Plan schedule and ensure is carried out, plan to perform missed maintenance activities and make the required adjustments to avoid this in the future.
  • Support the autonomous maintenance plan implementation by training the operators on the main "first line" maintenance activities.
  • Drive an optimal maintenance work management, develop processes flow, ensure work orders creation, measure and track work order backlog and assign the technical personnel to the schedule’s activities.
  • Ensure high levels of production assets availability and have fast reaction to fix unexpected machinery breakdowns.
  • Achieve maintenance Key Performance Indicators targets (maintenance availability, work order backlog, schedule compliance, MTTR, MTBF and others). Ensure a clear understanding of metrics meanings, calculations and trends by all maintenance team.
  • Manage routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and provide proactive support/solutions when required.
  • Process Governance: Leverage the CMMS to streamline workflows, ensure accurate failure analysis, and monitor the planned-to-unplanned maintenance ratio to drive continuous improvement in machine availability.
  • Annual Budget Development: Lead the development of the yearly maintenance budget, encompassing planned maintenance costs, spare parts inventory, and capital expenditure (CapEx) requirements to support operational continuity.
  • Cost Optimization: Plan and execute cost-reduction initiatives while ensuring the effective utilization of resources, balancing short-term financial targets with long-term asset health.
