This role is responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime across induction furnaces, molding machines, cranes, sand systems, pollution control equipment, conveyors, and automated production lines. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience, technical expertise in industrial maintenance, and a data-driven approach to reliability and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
Maintenance & Reliability Leadership
- Develop and lead a comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance program (TPM)
- Reduce emergency breakdowns and increase equipment lifespan
- Oversee troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Track and improve OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and PM compliance metrics
Team Management
- Supervise and mentor maintenance technicians and contractors
- Assign work based on priority, equipment criticality, and technician skill level
- Foster a safety-first, high-performance culture
- Support root-cause problem solving and rapid response initiatives
Equipment & Facility Oversight
- Maintain foundry equipment including:
- Molding systems (GF and DISA lines)
- Sand systems and coolers
- Conveyors (belt and vibratory)
- Finishing equipment
- Pollution control systems
- Lead capital improvement and CAPEX projects
- Support installation of new equipment and facility upgrades
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations
- Maintain IATF 16949 standards for automotive certification
- Conduct safety audits and monitor high-risk work areas
- Coordinate with quality teams to resolve production and reliability issues
Budget & Inventory Control
- Manage maintenance budget and control departmental costs
- Maintain critical spare parts inventory to prevent long lead-time failures
- Coordinate with vendors regarding parts, equipment, and service needs
Data & Systems Management
- Utilize CMMS systems to track KPIs and maintenance history
- Analyze failure trends and implement corrective actionsDevelop electronic maintenance tracking systems
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred)
- Equivalent experience considered
Experience
- 3–7 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance leadership experience
- Experience in foundry or heavy manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
Skills
- Proven team leadership and supervisory experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and production data
- Foundry environment with exposure to high heat, dust, and noise
- Work near heavy machinery and moving equipment
- PPE required
- Flexible schedule required to support off-shift or emergency repairs
