Job summary

Talent Acquisitions Group Inc is seeking a Maintenance Manager for our San Marcos, CA facility.

This hands-on leader will oversee the maintenance team, implement preventive and predictive programs, and coordinate with operations to minimize downtime.

Relocation package is included; the role is fully on-site with a base salary of $90,000 to $110,000 DOE.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
• 3–5 years of maintenance management experience leading teams.
• Proven ability to implement new procedures and programs.
• Broad mechanical experience across vehicles, equipment, HVAC, welding, and construction.
• Willingness to live within ~30 minutes of San Marcos facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead, schedule, and develop the maintenance team; set clear priorities, mentor and train technicians.
• Oversee all maintenance activity across equipment, vehicles, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, welding and facility projects.
• Build and implement new maintenance procedures, systems, and programs, including preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Implement or strengthen a work order and maintenance tracking system to improve visibility, response time, and equipment uptime.
• Respond to and manage maintenance emergencies, minimizing disruption to operations.
• Drive process improvement across the department to reduce downtime and cost.
• Manage spare parts inventory, vendors, and outside contractors.
• Coordinate with operations to plan maintenance around business needs.
• Support a safe work environment and regulatory compliance.
• Provide input on maintenance budget and capital planning.

Compensation: $90,000 to $110,000 base salary, DOE

ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is a leading specialty grower of microgreens, edible flowers, and petite herbs, supplying top chefs, food service distributors, and retailers across the country. Its greenhouse operations in North San Diego County are known for quality, consistency, and a steady pipeline of new products.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a newly created position, added to headcount to elevate the maintenance function. The Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance team and own all maintenance activity across the facility, including equipment, vehicles, HVAC, and building systems. Our client is looking for a strategic thinker who builds processes and systems, paired with a hands on, boots on the ground leadership style. This person will be as comfortable standing up a preventive maintenance program as they are diagnosing a failure on the floor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, schedule, and develop the maintenance team; set clear priorities, hold the team accountable, and mentor and train technicians
• Oversee all maintenance activity across equipment, vehicles, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, welding and fabrication, and facility construction projects
• Build and implement new maintenance procedures, systems, and programs, including preventive and predictive maintenance schedules
• Implement or strengthen a work order and maintenance tracking system to improve visibility, response time, and equipment uptime
• Respond to and manage maintenance emergencies, keeping disruption to growing and production operations to a minimum
• Drive process improvement across the department, using data to reduce downtime, recurring failures, and cost
• Manage spare parts inventory, vendors, and outside contractors
• Partner with operations, growing, production, and other departments to plan maintenance around business needs
• Support a safe work environment and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
• Provide input on the maintenance budget and capital planning for equipment and facility improvements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluency in English and Spanish (speak, read, and write)
• 3 to 5 years of maintenance management experience leading teams
• Demonstrated track record implementing new procedures, systems, or programs
• Broad mechanical experience across vehicles, equipment, HVAC, welding, construction, and related trades
• Ability to live within roughly 30 minutes of the San Marcos facility to respond to maintenance emergencies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in greenhouse, agriculture, horticulture, or controlled environment facilities
