Job description

Our Maintenance Manager will serve as a player-coach, overseeing a department of 20 maintenance professionals across four facilities, including the primary site in Arlington, TX. The role focuses on ensuring optimal performance and increased uptime of molding, support, and material feed equipment. The Maintenance Manager will support new equipment justification and installation, emphasizing consistency in job performance and fostering a culture of improvement, preventative maintenance, and cost reduction.

Location: Onsite in South Arlington, TX

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prioritize projects to improve key performance metrics and reduce operating costs.
  • Manage maintenance budget, recommend capital projects, and monitor costs including labor, MRO, and overtime.
  • Implement cost rationalization and communicate financial impacts.
  • Drive engagement and accountability within the team, utilizing data to identify risks and implement countermeasures.
  • Ensure effective preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery.
  • Analyze metrics to prioritize work and improve reliability, safety, quality, and throughput.
  • Develop training and onboarding programs; mentor safety teams.
  • Lead safety initiatives to promote zero injuries.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA lockout/tagout procedures, regulations, and maintenance schedules.
  • Develop capital budgets to optimize spending and uptime.
  • Coordinate with production for maintenance scheduling to minimize impact on operations.
  • Manage vendor relationships and maintenance contracts.
  • Collaborate with production on task assignments, training, inventory control, and root cause analysis.
  • Support CMMS implementation and proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Manager Responsibilities:

  • Supervise up to 20 employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Cross-train staff to enhance departmental knowledge.
  • Oversee maintenance across four sites within the DFW area.

Required Education and Experience:

  • 4-year degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of high-volume manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and supervisory experience.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience with a proven high-performance team record.
  • Experience with Plastic Injection, Blow Molding, and Structural Foam machines.
  • Assist with environmental compliance and support environmental specialists.
  • Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, and MS Office software; experience with CMMS systems.

Additional Experience:

  • Electrical systems expertise.
  • Experience launching new CMMS systems.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certifications or experience.
