Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Level 1 utility worker in maintenance to operate a conveyor, perform basic maintenance, and assist mechanics. You will follow safety guidelines and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include sanitation, preventative tasks, and supporting maintenance operations. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and be able to lift 70 lbs, with flexibility for overtime and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in a technical/related field preferred.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs and handle physical tasks.
• Must have basic computer skills and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow directions.
• Self-motivated with problem solving and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate conveyor and perform basic maintenance tasks.
• Conduct sanitation and preventative maintenance.
• Assist mechanics and other team members as needed.
• Follow safety guidelines and work in safety-conscious manner.
• Communicate effectively with team and supervisors.
• Be prepared to work holidays, weekends and varied shifts.
• Adapt to hot and cold environments and overtime when required.

Level 1 utility worker will be an employee who performs general duties at a basic skill level within the maintenance department. Assisting mechanics, general cleaning, rebuilding parts, operating conveyor. Candidate must be willing to work holidays, weekends and willing to work modified works schedules as well as overtime.

What You'll be Doing:

• Operation of the conveyor
• Lockout/Tag out certification
• Perform conveyor sanitation and preventative maintenance tasks
• Assist mechanics as needed
• Must have good communication skills to work as a team
• Must follow proper safety guidelines
• Practices 200% safety accountability (self and others).
• Perform other duties as required under immediate supervision.
• Must be able to work in hot and cold environments
