Job summary

United States Cold Storage Inc in Warsaw, NC, is seeking a dependable maintenance technician to help operate the facility at maximum efficiency and minimize downtime. You will work well with others and be self-motivated while maintaining safety and productivity.

The role includes housekeeping of maintenance areas, completing and logging tasks, battery maintenance, equipment inspections, and general maintenance such as painting and preventative work inside and outside the facility.

Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance and safe handling of equipment in a warehouse setting is preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions and manuals.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with safety as a priority.

Responsibilities

  • General housekeeping of maintenance areas including refrigeration system.
  • Complete required paperwork and log tasks as requested.
  • Battery changing and maintenance.

The Job Details: We are looking for dependable hardworking individuals with good work habits, abilities to minimize downtime of all equipment, and operate the facility at its maximum efficiency. In addition, we need someone who works well with others and is self-motivated. Duties and Responsibilities can include the following:



  • General house-keeping of all maintenance areas including refrigeration system



  • Complete required paperwork

  • Complete and log tasks as requested

  • Battery changing and maintenance

  • Equipment inspections, as requested

  • General maintenance including painting, cleaning, and preventative maintenance inside and outside of the facility


The Job Specifics:



  • Location, Department and Work Hours: Warsaw, Maintenance, Hours Vary

  • Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor(s), Assistant Chief Engineer and or Chief Engineer

  • Job Type, EEO, and Job Code: Full-Time, Non-Exempt EN04100227C



  • Required to Pass fit Test and Pulmonary Function test

  • Shift(s) Available:

    • 1st Shift: Monday-Friday - 6am - 2:30 pm and Saturdays as scheduled




What We Are Looking For:



  • The ideal candidate will have to or be able to complete the below qualifications

    • Education

      • High School Degree preferred, GED or equivalent



    • Experience

      • Previous warehouse maintenance preferred but not required

      • Knowledge of general hand and power tools

      • Previous residential maintenance experience

      • Background in preventative maintenance

      • Bend and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.



      • Lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally, with assistance.

      • May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or occasional standing, walking, lifting needed to carry out everyday activities

      • Stand and walk for extended periods.

      • Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.

      • Attention to detail.

      • Effective communication and hearing are essential for safety and productivity.

      • Operate scanners, tablets, radios, phones, computers, and other essential warehouse equipment as required.

      • Overtime availability is essential due to demand.

      • Operate a registered motor vehicle as part of daily tasks.

      • Have acceptable and/or correctable vision.

      • Engage in frequent personal interaction and communication.

      • Possess strong arithmetic and reading skills.

      • Follow verbal instructions, written instructions, and company policies.

      • Be a self-starter, able to work independently and coordinate with others.

      • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing stress and meeting productivity guidelines.
