Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance area in the absence of Maintenance Supervisor.
- Coordinate work activities with departments, outside contractors, and vendors; prioritize production demands.
- Diagnose equipment failures and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
- Ensure maintenance practices comply with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Mentor and train maintenance technicians; coordinate training activities.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance oversight with high competency.
- Lead team efforts to establish and follow maintenance standards; promote team ownership.
- Operate equipment and locate documentation (SOPs, drawings, etc.) as needed.
- Properly size components such as gearboxes, motors, pumps, etc.
- Follow safety protocols (hot work, confined space, lockout/tagout) and GMPs.
- Understand electrical and control safety requirements.
- Complete routine paperwork and utilize M3 maintenance software effectively.
- Respond to emergency plant needs and coordinate resources accordingly.
- Enforce food safety and quality policies and practices.
Qualifications/Required Skills
- Trade school (2 years) and/or 5 years of maintenance experience.
- Skills in using manual and power mechanics tools.
- Ability to read PIDs, PFDs, schematics, and verbal instructions.
- Forklift and CPR & First Aid certifications (must be maintained).
- Willingness to pursue ongoing professional development every 2 years.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Mathematical and reasoning skills, problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in Windows applications and maintenance management software (M3).
