Job summary

Explor Olympic LLC is seeking a Maintenance Lead at Olympic National Park. You will oversee site repairs, manage a variety of trades, and ensure safety compliance for a superb guest experience.

The role involves hands-on maintenance, inventory control, and daily reporting to the GM and Maintenance Director, with some landscaping tasks and on-call shifts as needed. Strong teamwork and reliable problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Word and Excel.
• Proficient in using maintenance tools, materials and equipment.
• Able to work on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated areas safely.
• Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Strong people skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Willing to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays with possible on-call.
• Lift 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee site maintenance and ensure timely repairs for guest experience.
• Ensure materials and tools are available at the job site.
• Inspect maintenance requests and complete planned work.
• Maintain pool and grounds repairs as applicable.
• Execute daily work plan and report status to GM.
• Complete departmental reports for management review.
• Communicate daily project status to General Manager.
• Assist on maintenance duties for buildings and facilities.
• Perform hands-on repairs across multiple trades.
• Manage parts inventory and adhere to safety procedures.

Title: Maintenance Lead

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Department: Maintenance

Summary of Position

Oversee general site maintenance, ensuring repairs and other maintenance tasks throughout the property are timely, complete, and performed according to the Company’s safety requirements to ensure a pleasurable guest experience. Some landscaping/grounds work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure receipt and completion of revenue and general Maintenance Requests (MRs) as required by Guest Services and employees


• Identify and ensure that all materials and tools are available at job site for required repair/maintenance work


• Inspect and ensure that all MRs are completed as planned


• Ensure that repairs and inspections of the pool (if applicable) and surrounding grounds are completed in a timely manner


• Ensure that the daily designated work plan is completed and reported to the GM


• Ensure that all identified departmental reports are completed as scheduled for review by the GM and Director of Maintenance Operations


• Ensure that the General Manager is apprised, on a daily basis, of the status of all ongoing projects


• Tasks may include painting, carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical, masonry, concrete, heating (if applicable) , welding, roofing and other related jobs


• Assist on assigned maintenance and mechanical duties for buildings and associated facilities, furnishings and equipment


• Capable of independent “hands‑on repairs” in all maintenance disciplines


• Efficiently and in a timely manner, manage parts inventory for general stock


• Comply with safety policies and procedures, including when lifting, climbing, etc.


• Ensure polite, knowledgeable, and timely customer service when responding to visitor inquiries


• Other duties as requested

Position Requirements

• Basic to Intermediate computer skill level, including Word and Excel


• Demonstrate skill in the use of tools, materials and equipment common to maintenance and repair


• Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms or catwalks, crawl spaces, tunnels, ledges and roofs


• Understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions


• Strong, professional people skills


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts and may be asked to be on call 24/7 in the case of an emergency


• Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally


• Must have a valid driver's license to operate vehicles throughout the property

Education and Experience

Education: High school Diploma or equivalent preferred

Technical/trade school diploma or equivalent training

Experience: 2 years of general maintenance and/or construction
Park experience preferred
