Job summary

ExplorUS at Olympic National Park seeks a Maintenance Lead to oversee site maintenance, ensuring timely repairs and adherence to safety standards. Some landscaping/grounds work may be required and the role supports guest experience.

Qualifications

• 2 years of general maintenance or construction experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical/trade training preferred.
• Basic computer skills; Word and Excel helpful.

Responsibilities

• Oversee receipt and completion of maintenance requests as required by guests and staff.
• Ensure materials and tools are available at each job site for repairs.
• Inspect and complete maintenance tasks as planned.
• Perform repairs on pool and surrounding areas as applicable and on schedule.
• Coordinate daily work plans and report status to GM.
• Prepare departmental reports for review by GM and Maintenance Director.
• Keep the GM apprised of project status on a daily basis.
• Perform tasks including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, heating, welding, roofing and related jobs.
• Assist with maintenance and mechanical duties for buildings and equipment.
• Perform hands-on repairs in multiple maintenance disciplines.
• Manage parts inventory for general stock efficiently.
• Follow safety policies and procedures at all times.

Title: Maintenance Lead

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Department: Maintenance

Summary of Position

Oversee general site maintenance, ensuring repairs and other maintenance tasks throughout the property are timely, complete, and performed according to the Company’s safety requirements to ensure a pleasurable guest experience. Some landscaping/grounds work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure receipt and completion of revenue and general Maintenance Requests (MRs) as required by Guest Services and employees
• Identify and ensure that all materials and tools are available at job site for required repair/maintenance work
• Inspect and ensure that all MRs are completed as planned
• Ensure that repairs and inspections of the pool (if applicable) and surrounding grounds are completed in a timely manner
• Ensure that the daily designated work plan is completed and reported to the GM
• Ensure that all identified departmental reports are completed as scheduled for review by the GM and Director of Maintenance Operations
• Ensure that the General Manager is apprised, on a daily basis, of the status of all ongoing projects
• Tasks may include painting, carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical, masonry, concrete, heating (if applicable) , welding, roofing and other related jobs
• Assist on assigned maintenance and mechanical duties for buildings and associated facilities, furnishings and equipment
• Capable of independent “hands‑on repairs” in all maintenance disciplines
• Efficiently and in a timely manner, manage parts inventory for general stock
• Comply with safety policies and procedures, including when lifting, climbing, etc.
• Ensure polite, knowledgeable, and timely customer service when responding to visitor inquiries
• Other duties as requested

Position Requirements

• Basic to Intermediate computer skill level, including Word and Excel
• Demonstrate skill in the use of tools, materials and equipment common to maintenance and repair
• Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms or catwalks, crawl spaces, tunnels, ledges and roofs
• Understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions
• Strong, professional people skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts and may be asked to be on call 24/7 in the case of an emergency
• Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally
• Must have a valid driver's license to operate vehicles throughout the property
