Job summary

US Aggregates is hiring a Maintenance/Laborer to support daily plant upkeep and equipment operation. The role includes shoveling, sweeping, daily housekeeping, and assisting in repairs while production runs or idle.

You will conduct routine checks, document activities, and follow safety procedures under the Plant Manager's guidance. Essential qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, reliable attendance, and good communication in English.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant upkeep and daily housekeeping to support production.
• Operate plant equipment to support daily production as needed.
• Perform pre-shift and end-of-shift checks and basic maintenance on equipment.
• Assist in plant repairs and maintenance when not in operation.
• Adhere to safety procedures and report safety concerns to Plant Manager.
• Communicate equipment conditions and improvement ideas to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned; participate in continuous improvement.

Build your career at US Aggregates!The Maintenance/Laborer will primarily be accountable for plant upkeep, including daily shoveling and sweeping. The Maintenance/Laborer may operate plant equipment in order to maintain daily production of the plant. When the plant is not running, the Maintenance/Laborer will also assist in performing plant repairs and maintenance, and other plant duties.

Essential Functions

• Service and maintain heavy equipment including loaders, skid steers, and haul trucks in order to keep the plant clean and in production
• Responsible for fueling, oiling, greasing equipment as well as understanding the equipment's safety manual
• Perform pre-shift and end of shift checks and maintenance on equipment
• Maintain plant maintenance including but not limited to daily shoveling, sweeping, general plant housekeeping, and any necessary repairs or services to mobile and stationary equipment
• Ensure the proper safety incident procedures and reporting processes are followed, bringing safety concerns to the attention of the Plant Manager
• Communicate with management and staff on conditions of stationary and mobile equipment, as well as any possible improvements or ideas
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills.

• Strong welding, torching, and maintenance skills preferred

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

• Must have the ability to stand or walk on level or uneven ground continuously
• Must have the ability to ascend and descend railcars, ladders, stairways, and incline catwalks
• Must have the ability to bend, crouch, and/or kneel at the waist or knees
• Must have the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work outside the majority of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions.
• Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather
