Job summary

O-I seeks a Maintenance Journeyman to install, repair, and maintain plant machinery and electrical equipment in an industrial glass manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include inspecting machines, performing repairs, and fabricating components as needed.

The role requires experience with industrial maintenance, reading blueprints, and strong problem-solving abilities; Journeyman card preferred and a rotating shift schedule including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Journeyman card (Maintenance, Electrical or HVAC preferred).
• Maintenance experience in an industrial environment required.
• Previous glass manufacturing experience preferred.
• PLC programming and troubleshooting a plus.
• Basic PC literacy (Word, email, data entry).
• Able to lift 40 lbs regularly.
• 8-hour rotating shift including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, erect, dismantle and assemble plant machinery and electrical/electronic equipment and components.
• Inspect glass forming machines and related equipment.
• Make line repair adjustments on glass forming machines.
• Weld, braze, solder and cut metals for maintenance and fabrication.
• Determine causes of breakdowns and required repairs.

Job Description

The Maintenance Journeyman will:

• Install, repair, erect, dismantle and assemble all types of plant machinery and electrical or electronic equipment and component parts (such as motors, switches, control boards, PLCs VFDs, generators, circuit breakers, etc.)
• Inspect glass forming machines and miscellaneous factory operating machines, related parts and components
• Makes line repair adjustments to glass forming machines
• Weld, braze, scrape, solder and cut various types of metals necessary for maintenance repairs and fabrication of new components and equipment
• Determines cause of breakdown or required repairs, reconditioning or replacements

The Maintenance Journeyman should have:

• Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting various types of industrial machinery
• Experience reading blue prints, wiring diagrams, shop hand books and layouts
• Experience completing routine reports and correspondence
• Strong problem solving skills

Qualifications:

• High School degree or GED
• Journeyman card required (Maintenance, Electrical or HVAC is preferred)
• Must have maintenance experience in an industrial environment

Additional Information

What We Offer:

Hourly Wage: The hourly wage for this position is $42.33

Schedule: 8 hour rotating schedule (includes working 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift) Will work weekends and some holidays.
