Job Description

Industrial Maintenance Technician – Multi-Craft.

Pay & Shift

Base pay: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Night shift receives an additional $2.00 per hour shift premium; total earning range: $30.00 – $37.00 per hour with shift premium.

Full‑time, 12‑hour, 2‑2‑3 schedule. Night shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM. Night shift positions currently available. No regular on‑call requirement. Overtime occasional based on production needs.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment including glass cutting machines, furnaces, conveyors, robotics, automated systems, and control systems.
  • Diagnose electrical issues involving motors, sensors, drives, control panels, wiring, relays, switches, and circuit protection.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues involving bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, pumps, valves, cylinders, pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyor systems.
  • Repair or replace worn, damaged, or failed components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and complete corrective actions.
  • Respond promptly to equipment downtime to minimize production interruptions.
  • Complete work orders, document repairs, and communicate follow‑up needs clearly.
  • Support root cause analysis and long‑term equipment reliability improvements.
Troubleshooting
  • Use meters, diagnostic tools, and hands‑on troubleshooting methods to identify equipment problems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
  • Troubleshoot PLC‑controlled equipment, HMIs, sensors, drives, and automated systems as experience allows.
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and other support teams to resolve equipment issues safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate repair status, equipment concerns, and follow‑up needs clearly.
Installation, Projects, and Upgrades
  • Assist with installation of new production equipment and support systems.
  • Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects.
  • Fabricate, modify, or repair equipment components as needed.
  • Test and verify repairs, installations, and upgrades for proper operation.
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with company safety procedures and applicable codes.
  • Participate in safety training and contribute to a strong safety culture.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability‑focused projects.
  • Suggest practical solutions to reduce downtime and improve production capability.
  • Support production employees with equipment knowledge and best practices.
  • Share knowledge with other maintenance team members and help support team development.
Qualifications

The successful candidate should have:

  • Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (3–5 years ideal).
  • Technical certification in industrial maintenance, electrical maintenance, automation, mechanical systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience with motors, sensors, control circuits, wiring, drives, and industrial equipment.
  • Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and related production equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work night shift on a 12‑hour, 2‑2‑3 schedule.
  • Willingness to learn new technology and support the development of other team members.

Preferred Skills
  • PLC and HMI troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with VFDs, sensors, motor controls, and automated equipment.
  • Welding, fabrication, or machining experience.
  • Experience with furnaces, conveyors, glass cutting equipment, vacuum systems, or manufacturing support equipment.
  • Experience in glass manufacturing is a plus.
  • Manufacturing/production floor environment exposure.
  • Exposure to heat, noise, dust, coolant, moving equipment, and industrial machinery.
  • Must follow all company safety requirements, including use of required PPE.
  • Work may require climbing, bending, standing, walking, lifting, and working around production equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in various production conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Ability to safely work on and around industrial production equipment.
