Job summary

Avna in New Britain, CT seeks a combined maintenance/janitorial role handling light mechanical work and basic building cleaning. You will perform PMs, repairs, and assist with unscheduled maintenance to keep operations running, while cleaning offices, cafe, and event spaces and setting up for gatherings.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to work independently, experience with hand and electrical tools, forklift operation, carpentry and plumbing basics, OSHA

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Position

This position, combining two existing positions, is responsible for light mechanical work around the New Britain building as well as the basic janitorial duties required in the Janitor position. This position will be based in the New Britain building and will report to the New Britain Facilities Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM's on machines
• Fix building repairs as needed
• Assist in non-scheduled maintenance to ensure the steady flow of production
• General custodial care of the building to include but not limited to:
  • Cleaning of offices, cafe, and meeting spaces
  • Vacuuming
  • Cleaning windows
  • Removal of trash
  • Setting up for events
• Install necessary replacement parts as needed
• Inspect and troubleshoot various equipment and systems
• Test the functionality of the facilities safety systems
• Report to facilities or maintenance manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress
