Job summary

MICA Steelworks in Haltom City, TX is seeking a maintenance/cleaning associate to keep building and grounds clean, safe, and well organized across two site facilities (shop and main building).

The role requires basic maintenance knowledge, ability to service restrooms and common areas, perform light repairs under supervision, and maintain inventory. Strong organization and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have basic industrial maintenance and safety knowledge.

• Knowledge and understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and requirements
• Skill in being a selfstarter with effective organizational skills
• Skill in effectively managing deadlines with conflicting priorities
• Skill in effective communication
• Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
• Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate attention to detail and flexibility
• Successfully pass a background check, including criminal history, drug screen, physical, audiogram, and vision test.

Responsibilities

• The ability to clean and supply restrooms, including but not limited to: washing and sanitizing toilets, sinks, mirrors, removing trash, and restocking disposables. The ability to also service breakrooms and conference rooms, front lobby and offices at both site facilities (shop and main building)
• The ability clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and/or vacuuming.
• The ability to gather and empty facility trash into facility dumpster.
• The ability to maintain current inventory of all cleaning and maintenance materials.
• The ability to assist in performing inspection and extensive cleaning of all production equipment, engineering equipment; special projects equipment; and office equipment.
• The ability to assist in performing minor plumbing repairs (sinks, toilets, water heater, and supply lines) with oversight and direction from the maintenance supervisor and provided that the employee has completed the necessary training
• The ability to maintain a clean and organized tool room and maintenance supplies; and, the ability to ensure each work area is properly clean and items appropriately stored.
• The ability to assist with set-up for special events
• The ability to perform other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

The incumbent must possess a High School Diploma, or GED, with 1-2 years’ related work experience. High School Diploma or GED preferred. Possession of maintenance experience is preferred.

Working Conditions

• Full time shop exposure.
• Extreme temperatures. (Sometimes due to season).
• No travel requirements.
• Perform work standing up for 8-10 hours per day and up to 6 days a week.
• Good vision, hearing, smell and balance.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly as well as climb stairs and ladders.
