Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment. The Technician will work an 8.5-hour shift schedule, Monday - Friday, with rotating weekly "on call" duties with the maintenance staff.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Use and track spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment used in repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain housekeeping in assigned areas and other necessary areas.
- Interface with CMMS for PMs, Work Orders, Inventory, and Purchasing.
- Have a good working knowledge of pumps, valves, centrifuges, conveyors, rolling stock, plant air & hydraulics, and grain handling equipment.
- Adhere to Plant Safety Programs including Safe Work Permits, LOTO, Confined Space Entry, Hot Works, and Line Break permits.
- Follow PPE requirements including head, eye, ear, hand, and fall protection.
- Complete all scheduled safety training.
- Participate in scheduled plant maintenance outages.
- Operate rolling stock equipment such as pay loaders, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and forklifts.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a two-year technical/vocational degree or equivalent training, or 3 years of work experience in a maintenance field.
- Ability to work effectively with CMMS programs.
- Background in welding, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
- Proficiency with basic office software.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, high places, outdoor weather, and high noise environments.
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
