Job summary

The Position

We are looking for a positive, energetic instrument technician with a wide variety of abilities to complement our experienced workforce. Applicants should have the ability to:

• Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and replace process instruments as part of the facility’s maintenance program
• Maintain process instruments including valves, vibration monitors, and other instruments
• Pressure test pneumatic instruments for leaks, pneumatic instruments with controllers, transducers, and valves in service
• Perform troubleshooting on energized motor controls
• Size thermal-overloads, breakers, and fuses
• Conduct instrumentation evaluation and troubleshooting for electrical, pneumatic, electronic, and programmable logic control (PLC) systems
• Participate in evaluation of instrument performance to identify optimization and enhancement opportunities
• Loop check electrical wiring for continuity and proper termination
• Perform field calibration of electronic instruments with transmitters, controllers, transducers, valves, and recorders in service
• Read, understand, correlate, and troubleshoot from one-line schematics, P & ID's, and ladder diagrams
• Use electrical equipment testers including V.O.M., AMP meter, and 1000‑volt insulation tester
• Apply knowledge of communication and applicable electrical OSHA rules and regulations
• Meet the cut score on the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Written Skill Assessment
• Pass a post‑offer, pre‑employment drug/alcohol test and applicable background checks
• Provide a minimum of 4 years craft‑specific experience
• Hold an Associate’s Degree in Instrumentation
