Job summary

Front Porch is looking for a skilled maintenance worker in Santa Rosa, California to troubleshoot and repair low-voltage wiring for building automation systems. This full-time position involves a range of responsibilities like installing low-voltage circuits, ensuring quality customer service, and performing preventative maintenance.

Pay Range: $29.58 - $33.00

Full Time, Monday - Friday , 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Summary

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and/or Director of Facilities and Maintenance, troubleshoot and repair low-voltage wiring problems with telephone and network cabling for building automation systems, HVAC controls, access control, lighting controls, fire alarm, and telephone system. Install and program new low-voltage wiring circuits. Trace, test and commission low-voltage systems. Installs, maintains, paints, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems on the grounds and structures and apparatus of facilities by performing the following duties.

Detailed Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair low-voltage wiring problems with telephone and network cabling for building automation systems, HVAC controls, access control, lighting controls, fire alarm, and telephone system.
  • Install and program new low-voltage wiring circuits.
  • Trace, test and commission low-voltage systems.
  • Provides quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction
  • Is competent in one or more of the following skills: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, metal fabrication and welding, boiler systems, hydraulic systems, an HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning)
  • Repairs and installs plumbing, gas and electric water heaters, gas furnace, and other apparatus and equipment as assigned
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill; milling machines to repair or fabricate parts, fixtures, tools, mechanical equipment and other structures
  • Performs repairs and refurbishment for resident accommodations and other structures of the facility
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment and performs preventative maintenance
  • Completes work orders and special projects as assigned by supervisor
  • Follows department safety standards, practice body mechanic techniques and participate in campus-wide safety programs
  • Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Wears PPE/safety equipment as required for the job
  • Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor

Credentials
  • Nonessential: NICET I OR II Level Certification
Education with Equivalent Qualifications

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications
  • Knowledge in the use of low-voltage diagnostics test equipment and tools
  • Read wiring schematics and blueprints
