Job summary

Ascend Performance Materials in Foley, AL is seeking an E&I Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and repair electrical, instrumentation, and control systems across the plant. Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years in troubleshooting industrial electrical control systems down to component level.
  • Must be able to read and understand equipment specifications, drawings, and prints.
  • Proficient with diagnostic instruments to measure voltage, current, temperature, etc.
  • SAP maintenance program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment across the plant.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs during shutdowns and regular operations.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, prints, and EFDs to diagnose issues.
  • Document findings and summarize in written reports.
  • Work with operations and maintenance leadership to improve reliability and safety.

Job DescriptionThere is a job opening for an E&I Maintenance Technician at Ascend Performance Materials’ Foley, AL production site.This is a Days job, but some work on weekends and/or at night may be requiredSkills and Knowledge RequiredHigh School diploma or GED required.Minimum of 2-5 years in trouble shooting industrial electrical control systems down to component levelAbility to work closely with key maintenance and operations personnel in providing effective and quality results.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Able to install and set up both A/C and D/C drivesPLC troubleshooting and problem solving ability with practical, mechanical, & electrical aptitudeAble to install 3 phase motor control circuitsMust be able to read and understand equipment specifications, technical information, detailed drawings and prints.Fundamental shop math knowledge and the application of. (Manipulation of fractions, decimals, basic geometry and trigonometry.)Experienced E&I Maintenance Technician with knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems with the ability to effectively troubleshoot and repair these systems while working independently.Must be proficient in the use of diagnostic instruments used to measure voltage, current, resistance, temperature, and other inputs.Must be able to read and understand specifications, technical drawings, prints, and EFD’s.Knowledge of various types of and proper application of fasteners, gaskets, tubing, and piping.Desired KnowledgeAbility to operate both conventional and complex diagnostic instruments.Ability to operate both conventional and complex diagnostic equipment to evaluate pressure, temperature, flow, and other process conditions.Ability to effectively lead, influence, and direct work groups.Computer skills for effective use of the SAP maintenance program, PC web-based data entry, and other applications.Able to document findings and summarize in written reports.Specific Job RequirementsDaily work activities will include troubleshooting, repairs, overhauls, and performing preventive maintenance activities on any equipment supported in the plant.Lift and carry equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds for distances of up to ten (10) feet.Have the ability to climb, bend, stretch, crawl, and position yourself in cramped areas to build and repair material and equipment.Individuals will be expected to perform work at a high level of precision, quality and cost effectiveness while providing significant contributions in a team environment.This is a demanding assignment where technical abilities, equipment knowledge and dedication to customer needs are essential.Overtime is required as needed in support of plant operations.E&I Maintenance Technicians will be utilized across the site to support shutdowns, emergencies, and specific skills as determined by maintenance leadership.Actively participate in safety processes and instruct others on the proper and safe use of equipment and tools.Execute work safely, effectively, and with high quality in support of the daily operations and maintenance plan.Candidates must demonstrate a positive attitude and show personal initiative while striving to satisfy customer needs through high quality maintenance and repair of critical plant equipment.Work with operations, maintenance leadership, planner/scheduler to identify and resolve improvement opportunities related to work execution and equipment reliability.Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment by using an analytical step-by-step process, standard maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.Job LocationFoley, ALPosition TypeFull-Time, RegularAt Ascend Performance Materials, we value transparency and fairness in our hiring process.
