Job summary

Ascend Performance Materials seeks an E&I Maintenance Technician for our Foley, AL site. This days position may require weekend and/or night work. You will troubleshoot electrical control systems, install AC/DC drives, read diagrams, and support maintenance with operations to ensure reliable plant performance.

You will use diagnostic tools, work with SAP maintenance, and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication while executing preventive maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2-5 years in trouble shooting industrial electrical control systems to component level.
• Work with maintenance and operations personnel to deliver quality results.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to install and setup AC and DC drives.
• PLC troubleshooting with mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Able to read and understand equipment specs, drawings and prints.
• Basic math for fractions, decimals, geometry and trigonometry.
• Experience with electrical/instrumentation/controls systems and independent troubleshooting.
• Proficient with diagnostic instruments to measure voltage, current, resistance, temperature.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment across the plant.
• Perform preventive maintenance on site equipment.
• Lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds for up to 10 feet.
• Work in confined spaces and maneuver in tight areas.
• Contribute to a high level of precision, quality and cost effectiveness in a team environment.
• Support shutdowns, emergencies, and specific skills as directed by leadership.
• Participate in safety processes and promote safe practices.
