Job summary

Kearfott Corporation in Brownsville, TX is seeking a Maintenance Helper to assist the Maintenance Department with facility upkeep and general maintenance activities. This temporary role has an initial assignment of at least six months and may be extended based on business needs.

The Maintenance Helper will support basic electrical maintenance, perform painting and drywall repairs, and help maintain building components and grounds, ensuring safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED/equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of prior experience in maintenance, electrical work, construction, or related field required.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift and move materials as required, routinely lifting up to 50lbs with periods of prolonged standing.
• Must be a US Citizen

Responsibilities

• Assist with general facility repairs and maintenance activities.
• Assist with basic electrical maintenance, including replacing light bulbs and lighting fixtures under appropriate supervision.
• Perform painting, drywall repairs, and other building improvements.
• Maintain doors, locks, windows, ceilings, and other building components.
• Perform routine inspections to identify facility maintenance needs.
• Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and materials.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, storage rooms, and facility grounds.
• Perform other facility maintenance duties as assigned.
