Qualifications

• High School Diploma or HSE required.
• Valid Georgia driver's license required.
• 1 year experience in facility maintenance preferred.
• Written and oral communication; electro-mechanical abilities required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Takes direction from the assigned trade person and completes all assigned work timely.
• Promotes good relations and a positive image with customers and peers.
• Provides on-call availability 24/7 as required.
• Completes paperwork for maintenance database and meets state/local requirements.
• Maintains proper parts inventory on district vehicle and returns overages to inventory.
• Cares for vehicles, tools, and equipment; ensures maximum usage.
• Plans, stages, and completes cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and installation of equipment.
• Initiates and completes assigned projects in a timely and accurate manner.
• Reports safety issues to the administrator immediately.
• Fulfills other duties as assigned by administrator.

REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Maintenance Services

PAY GRADE: Rank J (NW10)

FLSA: Non-Exempt

PAY FREQUENCY: Bi-Weekly

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Supports assigned trade person by taking direction and fulfilling assigned maintenance tasksand projects; may be assigned to any trade and reassigned as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

• Educational Level: High School Diploma or HSE required.
• Certification/License Required: Valid Georgia driver's license.
• Experience: 1 year experience in facility maintenance preferred.
• Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities; walking, standing,kneeling, negotiating stairs and ladders, lift and transport 75 pounds over short distances.
• Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Written and oral communication; electro-mechanical abilities.

The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Takes direction from the assigned trade person and accurately completes all assigned work in a timelymanner.
• Promotes good relations and displays a positive image with customers, the public and peers.
• Provides periodic 24 hours a day, seven days a week on-call report.
• Completes and submits all paperwork for computerized maintenance database, as well as to meet all Stateand local requirements, in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintains the proper parts inventory on the district vehicle to meet the majority of assigned maintenancework requests. Returns any parts overages to inventory.
• Takes proper care and maintains vehicles, all tools, and equipment necessary to perform the responsibilitiesof the position as well as to ensure maximum usage.
• Plans, stages, and completes the cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and installation of all types of equipmentassigned to the trade.
• Initiates and completes assigned projects in a timely and accurate manner.
• Reports immediately any issues that may have an impact to school or employee safety to the appropriateadministrator.
• Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
