Job summary

Oregon Steel Mills LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support machinery and equipment across our facility in Portland, OR. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspections and minor repairs, ensuring safe operations and minimal downtime.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work rotating shifts. Benefits start on day one and include healthcare, 401(k) with 5% employer match, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime.
• Ability to work around heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust and noise.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Move tools, parts, equipment and supplies between work stations.
• Clean, lubricate and maintain machinery and tools.
• Inspect machinery and components for defects.
• Install or replace parts and instruments as needed.
• Assist in assembly and repair of equipment.
• Maintain inventory of parts and materials.
• Prepare work stations for mechanics and repairs.
• Read Safe Job Procedures and Hazard Identification documents.
