Job summary

IMS is seeking aBuilding Maintenance Technician in Texas to perform routine repairs, fix structural damage, plumbing, electrical issues, HVAC upkeep, and proactive safety measures to keep the facility safe and functional.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years’ experience in a similar role, knowledge of electrical systems, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. Overtime, weekends, and evenings may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems.
• Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
• Effective problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance around the building.
• Repair structural damage such as window, door, or wall issues.
• Repair leaking plumbing to restore water fixtures.
• Address damaged electrical wiring as needed.
• Maintain HVAC equipment for climate control.
• Apply preventative measures to the building to reduce future problems.
• Fix safety hazards to prevent injuries.
• Paint the building when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
• Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
• Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
• Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
• Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
• Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
• Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
