Position Summary

The primary purpose of the Maintenance Helper position is to assist with basic janitorial and light maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Plant Manager. Flexibility is essential, as duties may include helping in other areas of the plant, including production.

Shift Details

This is a second shift position. Hours will be 3:30 pm - 12:00 am.

Responsibilities

1. Perform janitorial tasks as directed.
2. Assist with basic maintenance cleaning (wiping down, blowing out, lubricating).
3. Maintain casters on all carts/gondolas.
4. Monitor stock levels in the warehouse.
5. Perform basic preventative maintenance when trained.
6. Report work status and issues to supervisor.
7. Inspect safety equipment such as eye wash stations.
8. Collaborate with all employees, understanding maintenance supports production.
9. Operate machinery safely, following all safety procedures.
10. Perform repairs efficiently and carefully.
11. Seek supervisor guidance when priorities conflict.
12. Assist in production as needed.
13. Replenish supplies and maintain cleanliness.
14. Contribute ideas for improvements.
15. Attend safety meetings.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
17. Maintain flexibility in work hours.

Physical Requirements

• Constant standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching, bending, twisting, grasping, foot movement, wrist, elbow, shoulder motions, and pushing carts up to 200 pounds.
• Occasional exposure to dust and lint, with masks available.
