Job description

Summary: The theatre maintenance person is a team member classified based on individual theatre needs and/or employee availability, as either variable hour, part-time fixed, part-time regular, or full-time hourly employee. They are responsible for performing minor repairs in all areas of the theatre, including the projection booth (such as changing fixtures, repairing fan motors, etc.), but specifically not involving equipment or maintenance covered by the Technical Services Department. They represent and act as a representative of Regal in a manner consistent with our mission statement and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned by theatre management:

  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • Ensuring all auditorium seats are in good working order and repairing broken ones promptly.
  • Training theatre personnel in proper and safe methods to perform minor repairs and maintenance.
  • Changing light bulbs as needed.
  • Painting.
  • Performing daily inspection reports.
  • Handling other minor repairs as needed.
  • Collaborating with management to obtain qualified personnel for larger maintenance issues.
  • Having knowledge to arm, disarm, and operate the alarm system.
  • Being aware of all safety and emergency procedures.

Education/Experience:

Prior maintenance experience is preferred. Certified as a cast member. Ability to work independently.

Language Ability:

Effective communication in both oral and written forms with management staff. Ability to listen effectively, respond clearly and directly, and explain information to others.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to identify problems, gather relevant data, recognize possible causes, evaluate information, consider alternatives, reach conclusions based on evidence, and implement solutions. Capable of taking initiative beyond basic requirements and performing tasks with minimal supervision, even under pressure or opposition.

Personal Skills:

Ability to interface effectively with co-workers and exhibit sensitivity to others' feelings.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands necessary to perform this job include frequently standing, walking, using hands, reaching, talking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 60 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
