Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Maintenance Group Leader to guide a skilled, hourly workforce at the Tonawanda, NY facility, reporting onsite on a full-time basis. The role emphasizes safety, quality, cost control and environmental practices within GM's SPQRCE framework.

Candidates will manage equipment maintenance, analyze plans, and drive continuous improvement while upholding national and local agreements. This position offers growth as GM advances electric and autonomous vehicle initiatives.

Qualifications

• 1 year of direct team supervisory experience or at least 5 months as an internal GM per diem group leader.
• Experience reading and understanding electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints.
• Experience solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with conflict resolution and decision making.
• Experience leading people and addressing performance concerns.
• Demonstrate high analytical ability to solve complex problems.
• Basic computer proficiency (Word, typing, email, etc.).
• Willing to work weekends, overtime, and rotating shifts as needed.
• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and respond to the daily manufacturing plan and adjust operations as required.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Drive accountability through people and processes, including difficult conversations.
• Conduct checks and tests and communicate results.
• Proactively offer solutions to operational or technical issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain productivity and quality per standards.

• Maintain frequent collaboration with others outside the work group.
• Supervise efficient use of labor, inventory and machinery.
• Plan and execute actions to complete jobs or projects.
