Job summary

General Motors Manufacturing Group is seeking qualified individuals for current and future opportunities as a Group Leader. The Maintenance Group Leader will guide hourly workers to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment, ensuring safety and adherence to SPQRCE priorities.

Location is onsite in Indiana, with shift commitments and potential escalation handling across teams. Applicants should have supervisory experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to communicate

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of direct team supervisory experience or at least 5 months as an internal GM per diem group leader.
• Experience solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing conflicts and decisions.
• Experience leading people and addressing performance concerns.
• Demonstrate high analytical ability to solve complex problems.
• Basic computer proficiency (Word, typing, email).
• Must be willing to work weekends and rotating shifts.
• 18 years or older; High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and respond promptly to the manufacturing daily plan and adjust operations as needed.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Drive accountability through people and processes, including difficult conversations.
• Conduct checks and tests and communicate evaluation results.
• Proactively offer solutions to operational or technical issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain productivity and quality in line with standards.
• Implement divisional and corporate policies and safety and housekeeping practices.
• Maintain frequent contact and collaboration with others outside the work group.
• Supervise efficient use of labor, inventory, and machinery.
• Establish action plans to complete jobs and projects.
