Job summary

Job description

Summary

Maintenance staff is primarily responsible for general repairs and services in all maintenance related disciplines. S/He will promote a safe working environment and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction. The maintenance staff will work with inspectors, and department heads to ensure maximum efficiency. The maintenance staff shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Hotel’s Culture.

Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Essential Job Functions
  • Experience in general repairs in maintenance related disciplines, including but not limited to: drywall, painting, carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, finish work, tile or carpet.
  • Prioritize work orders through urgent requests and established hotel area down times in order to minimize inconveniencing guests.
  • Effectively interact with department managers.
  • Respond to guest room calls as required.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
  • Perform other duties and handle projects as assigned.
  • Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness.
  • Maintain department equipment and supply inventory levels.
  • Ensure security, cleanliness, preventive maintenance and repair of engineering tools, equipment and safety features, according to established procedures and within budget.
  • Promote sanitation, safety, security efforts, and guest services of the Hotel.
  • Follow hotel policy with lost/stolen items.
  • Adhere to hotel requirements for guest/employee accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.
  • Participate on the Hotel’s Emergency Evacuation Team.
  • Participate in OSHA/Safety Programs within the hotel through awareness in every day job functions.
  • Associate is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer experience working in general maintenance, electrical, painting, plumbing, A/C, refrigeration repairs.
  • Experience working with heavy machinery and tools.
  • Exceptional guest-focus.
  • Fluency in other languages beneficial.

  • Must have excellent guest and associate relations skills. Skilled in problem solving by identifying the problem and working through it.
  • Possess strong motivational, organizational and verbal communication skills.
