Cobb in Eastville, VA is seeking a skilled farm maintenance technician to maintain and repair on‑farm infrastructure, with a schedule Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., about 40 hours weekly.

Starting Pay: $22.95 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends.
Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months. Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days. Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods. Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview. Priority consideration will be provided to internal applicants first. Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (rotating on‑call weekends), including holidays. Hours: 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Typically these positions generally average 40 hours a week. Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.
This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing on‑farm infrastructure.
Minimum Requirements: Education: Must be able to read, write, and have simple math [addition, subtraction, multiplication and division] skills. Must have good oral and written communication skills. Must have Valid Driver’s License, 1 year verifiable Driving experience with clean safety record Fork lift certified or able to obtain certification. Maintain maximum point level of 8.
The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift and/or move, up to 50 pounds to move items such as vehicle parts, fan motors, tools, etc.; tools, such pallet jacks, may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 2000 pounds such as skids of supplies, various on‑farm equipment, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; talk or hear; drive a vehicle within the farm complex; proficiently operate trailer/tractor/skidsteer/hyster. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Power Tools
Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also work in hot, dry, dusty, wet, icy, snowy and cold environments.
Disinfectants such as Synergize, My-T-Kleen Barnwash, Lysol, Formaldehyde, parts cleaners, etc.
Team Member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lock out Tag out, and Personal Protective equipment. Team Member is expected to identify, address, and mitigate safety related risks.

Additional compensation may be available for this position based on various factors such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses. Pay is just one part of Tyson’s total compensation package.
