Tyson Foods is hiring a Maintenance Generalist for the Louisa County Plant in Columbus Junction, Iowa. The role covers troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing equipment across departments in a pork processing facility on C Shift.

Candidates must meet physical requirements and be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of relevant maintenance training, with experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems, welding, and PLC troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 1 year of on-the-job training in maintenance or related areas
• Experience in mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic, PLC troubleshooting and navigation
• Willing to work any department, weekends, holidays and overtime

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment and assets
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production lines, conveyors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
• Read and follow manuals, document work on scheduling sheets, complete training modules
• Lift up to 60 pounds and work in confined spaces, at heights, and in cold/damp/hot environments

These positions work in all departments of this pork processing facility, performing preventative maintenance repairing equipment used in production such as conveyor lines, trolley systems, Rendering machinery, and hydraulic systems. Other duties may include welding, basic electrical work, and working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are required in all areas. These positions work in a cold, damp or hot and humid environment.
