Family & Community Services is seeking a Maintenance Generalist, Journey, to perform installation, maintenance and repair of building systems at the McLaughlin Youth Center, a 24-hour juvenile facility in Anchorage. The role requires on-call/standby rotations and occasional travel to Palmer and Kenai locations.

The position emphasizes safety, security, and teamwork while supporting maintenance across Mat-Su and Kenai Youth Facilities. It offers growth within the Division of Juvenile Justice.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic mathematics and the safe and proper use and care of tools common to equipment and building maintenance.
• Ability to read and write; follow and apply written and oral directions and safety sheets.
• Complete written reports, e.g., time sheets, incident reports, material requests.
• Learn and safely handle construction, maintenance wastes and hazardous materials.
• Respond to emergency situations following established procedures.

Responsabilités

• Install, maintain, and repair building components and systems at the McLaughlin Youth Center, a secure institutional setting.
• Provide maintenance support to the Mat-Su Youth Facility and the Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility, with occasional travel.
• Work as part of a team providing maintenance-related services.
