Tyson Foods in Springdale, AR is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the D Shift (Wed–Sat, with 6 hours Wed, 12am–6am Thu). The role covers troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment, while following Tyson safety policies.

The position requires hands-on mechanical and basic electrical skills, the ability to diagnose without supervision, and the stamina to manage varying temperatures and physical tasks such as lifting up to 70 lbs.

• Enrolled in an industrial maintenance program (proof required) or 6 months of experience in industrial maintenance or 1 year of classroom training from a technical college (proof of training with passing grade).
• Industrial maintenance experience may include work as a fabricator, electrician, or plant maintenance listed on the application.

Job Details

Pay: determine by skill level

Work schedule: Wednesday through Saturday (Wednesday 6 hours, midnight to 6 am Thursday morning).

Job description

• Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
• Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction.
• Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.
• Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
• Complete appropriate paperwork and reports.
• Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
• Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs.
• Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.
• Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision.
• Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity. It can be dusty, warm, cold and/or humid.
• The positions physical requirements will include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds.
• Lifting will also be required and depending on department could be up to 70lbs.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an industrial maintenance program (proof of enrollment required) or have 6 months of experience working in an industrial maintenance or 1 year of classroom training from technical college (proof of training with passing grade required) or must have graduated from a technical college with a certification in Electronics technology or industrial maintenance technology. Industrial maintenance will be considered work as a fabricator, electrician, or plant maintenance listed on the application.

There is 180 days (6 months) waiting period for former Tyson Foods team members. Max of two previous Tyson employments to be considered for hire.

This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Relocation Assistance Eligible: No. Work Shift: D Shift (United States of America).
